泵、真空泵、液下泵、计量泵、齿轮泵、耐腐蚀泵、耐酸泵、消防泵向旋转方向流动。然后与右回水孔流来的水汇合,顺着蜗壳流动。由于液体在蜗壳内不断冲击叶栅,不断被叶轮击碎,就同空气强烈搅拌混合,生成气水混合物,并不断地流动致使气水不能分离。混合物在蜗壳出口被隔舌剥离,沿短管进入分离室。在分离室内空气被分离出来,由出口管排掉,而水仍经左右回水孔流向叶轮外缘,并与吸入管空气相混合。如此反复循环,逐渐将吸入管路中的空气排尽,使水进入泵内,完成自吸过程。排污泵自吸泵油泵隔膜泵螺杆泵齿轮油泵泵相同,其区别只是回水不流向叶轮外缘,而流向叶轮入口。内混式自吸泵在启动时,须打开叶轮前下方的回流阀,使泵内液体流回到叶轮入口。水在叶轮高速转动的作用下与吸入管来的空气相混合,形成气水混合物排至分离室。在这里空气排出而水又从回流阀返回到叶轮入口。如此反复进行,直至空气排尽,吸上水来内混式的自吸泵,工作原理与外混式自吸。

The mixture is stripped off the tongue at the outlet of the volute and enters the separation chamber along the short tube. The air in the separation chamber is separated from the outlet pipe, and the water flows to the outer edge of the impeller through the left and right backwater holes, and is mixed with the air of the suction pipe. Such repeated circulation, gradually drained the air in the suction pipe, and made the water enter the pump to complete the self suction process. The difference between the self priming pump, the oil pump, the diaphragm pump, the screw pump and the gear pump is the same as that of the pump. The difference is that the backwater does not flow to the outer edge of the impeller and flows to the impeller inlet. When the internal mixing self priming pump is started, the reflux valve at the front and bottom of the impeller must be opened, so that the liquid in the pump will flow back to the impeller inlet. The water is mixed with the air from the suction pipe under the action of high speed rotation of the impeller, so that the mixture of air and water is discharged to the separation chamber. Here the air drained away and the water returned from the return valve to the impeller inlet. So repeatedly, until the air drained, suction water to the internal mixing self suction pump, the working principle and external mixing self suction.
自吸泵的自吸高度,与叶轮前密封间隙、泵的转数、分离室液面高度等因素有关。叶轮前密封间隙越小,自吸高度越大,一般取为0.3~0.5毫米;在间隙增大时,除自吸高度下降外,泵的扬程、效率均降低。泵的自吸高度随叶轮的圆周速度u2的增大而增大,但到最大自吸高度时,转数增加而自吸高度就不再增加了,此时只是缩短自吸时间;当转数下降时,自吸高度则随着下降。在其它条件不变的情况下,自吸高度还随着储水高度的增加而增加(但也不能超过分离室的最佳储水高度)。为了在自吸泵中更好地使气水混合,叶轮的叶片须少些,使叶栅的节距增大;并宜采用半开式叶轮(或叶轮槽道较宽的叶轮),这样更方便于回水深入地射进叶轮叶栅中。

The self suction height of the pump increases with the increase of the circumferential velocity U2 of the impeller, but at the maximum self suction height, the rotation number increases and the self priming height no longer increases. At this time, the self suction time is shortened, and the self suction height decreases with the decrease of the number of revolutions. Under other conditions, the height of self suction increases with the increase of water storage height, but it can not exceed the optimum storage height of the separation chamber. In order to mix the air and water better in the self-priming pump, the blade of the impeller must be less and the pitch of the cascade is increased; it is more convenient to use the half open impeller (or the impeller with a wider impeller), which is more convenient for the backwater to be deeply embedded in the impeller and leaf grid.
